Senior Exhibition
Senior Exhibition (Art 499) is a course that summerizes the University art experience through active planning and execution of professionally oriented activities such as a group exhibit, professional portfolios and resumes. This collaberative program is split up into six committees, each with their own specific jobs. These committees consist of Publicity & Public Relations, Photography, Exhibition Logos & Invitations, Poster Committee, Exhibition & Opening Night Committee, and finally the Web Committee. Having such organization is crucial when time is always limited.
In addition to the show, we also wrote and critiqued our own Cover Letters, Resumes, Artist Statements, and Design Philosophies. This is accompanied by class body of work presentations and a final BFA Thesis Exit Review.
Overall this course has prepared us for the competitive world of digital graphics and fine arts. Whether we will be working for a firm, in a studio, or on our own, we now have the skills to apply, interview, or even run our own business with confidence.
Jinchul Kim (A.K.A. Master Kim)
Master Kim instructed the Fall 2012 BA and BFA graduating art majors. With his expertise in curating, as well as years of experience in painting, our class was destined for success. Master Kim's obsessive attention to detail, suprisingly impressive technological skills, and his "Send me your work info ASAP!" attitude, meant our class had to pay even closer attention to the Facebook event page and 9AM wake up phone calls.
In all seriousness though, Mr. Kim ran our class and show with great poise and professionalism. We could not have asked for a better teacher and mentor, thank you!
Check out some of his insane work below or visit his website.
Thank You!
We would like to offer a special thanks to Liz Kauffman and Marisa Sage, the gallery directors, for all their help. From helping us set up to dealing with our problems/ misakes, I don't think we could have done it with out you both, thanks!
